Week 11 sees Auckland in my radar, having a fabulous Greek dinner with friends it seemed silly to not stay up there and go to an Auckland Café as part of my 52 project, I could never in a million years get round them all so it was a bit of a hit and miss as where to go this time.
I chose a café called the Corner Café in Point Chevalier as it right by the specialty I wanted to go to and it looked pretty cute on Google maps. We had a lovely breakfast there and the coffee was quite nice, in fact there really wasn’t anything to complain about, nice décor, staff were friendly and polite and other than the 4 police cars, 2 ambulances and 2 fire engines screaming past with sirens blazing, it was peaceful and had a nice ambience. So 8/10 for this one.
The specialty I wanted to go to was The Bead Hold http://www.beadhold.co.nz/ which I found on Facebook when I was trying to source some black pearls to make earrings with. The we had in Hamilton had closed down so it was hard to find what I wanted and buying off the rack just didn’t cut it, I couldn’t find the sort of earrings I wanted so I had to make them. These are what I created along with some pretty red glass drops. I brought enough stuff to make several other things but needless to say I’ll be popping back to this mecca of jewellery making supplies again soon!
