Week 26, Urge for coffee and a pincushion

Week 26, Urge for coffee and a pincushion

Urge is a cute little French style cafe on the corner of Garden Place in the CBD Hamilton, I've never stopped here as its usually completely full, it only has seating for about 10 people inside and a few small tables outside. My visit here was towards the end of the day so there was a table or two free and it was the most inviting place on a cold winter afternoon in that area of town!

The coffee here was so pretty I had to take a photo of it for you, I had the long black so not a pretty coffee but my daughter's hot chocolate was the best I'd ever seen, what a nice touch to add their cafe name to it!

To e honest the coffee wasn't the nicest, in fact I wouldn't want to have another long black there but the handmade chocolates were divine and the hot chocolate was apparently quite nice. My rating 5/10

I learnt how to make pretty little hat shaped pin cushions way back years ago and made one for my mother in-law. I saw recently that she still had this old relic and it was looking way worse for wear so I thought I'd make her a new one, and this is the result, it's made out of a lovely hard-wearing denim and I trimmed it up with some broderie anglaise  lace which was probably a little too wide as its hard to see the fact it's meant to look like a hat but I think it's pretty anyway and it was well received! Nice little gift idea, I'm happy to share the method if anyone is keen to make some too!
