Wow what a week, my new grandson has finally arrived and he is simply gorgeous! I've been testing out my photography skills and this is the first of the creative shots I plan to do (Any excuse to show off our little man!)
During the 42 hours I spent awake helping my daughter through her labour I needed some good coffee to help keep me going, so we visited the Momento cafe by the hospital. Just like the other Momentos it has its own vibe and some exceptionally good coffee! The decor was pretty laid back yet funky and the outside area looked nice, we tried to sit out there but the weather was almost gale force winds so inside was a better option this time. I went with an Americano as I felt confident it would be good as well as knowing I needed a good shot of caffeine to keep me on my feet. I wasn't disappointed, strong rich and flavoursome so 9/10 for Momento at the hospital.
My craft this week was a new dress. I had found the material at an op and it cost me $2 for the red material and $4 for the red/white pinstripe material, both strong heavy cotton fabrics. So other than my time and few sewing notions like the zip and some boning this dress cost me less than $15 to make.
I used a McCalls pattern M6350 to make this dress and added in the bow belt from the lighter fabric to help tie it all together. The lace embellishments are from my wedding dress so I'm pleased to recycle them to wear again, I spent many hours cutting painting with fabric paint and adding beading to these! Red lac flowers are hard to come by so I had to make my own!
This is the finished result
